The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has led a delegation from the University to sign an agreement with the Bank of Ghana to support the establishment of the Bank of Ghana Chair in Finance and Economics to be hosted at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) and the Department of Economics, College of Humanities.
The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison warmly welcomed the delegation from the University. He explained that the agreement arises from a proposal the Bank received from the University to collaborate on promoting research in the financial sector. “The Bank has always been interested in proposals like this”, Dr. Addison said. He stated that the agreement is for a 3-year period and worth three million Ghana Cedis (GHc3,000,000). The Governor indicated that, “it is expected that the Chair would advance the Bank’s expectation in the formulation of research to support policy”.
