             Mrs. Adelaide Mary Benneh

 

Mrs. Adelaide Mary Benneh is a goaloriented leader with many years experience and proven skills in corporate governance and an international background in Human Resource Management and Change. Has successfully led the board of a company from inception to a top tier company among its peers and spear headed organizational change in the largest bank in the country. Has great interpersonal skills and strong sense of responsibility to the community. She has a Masters in Management Sciences (MSC) (HR and Industrial Relations) from University of Manchester, UK in 1987, BA Honors in French and Spanish from the University of Ghana, Legon in 1968 and “O” and “A” Levels Certificates from Aburi Girls Secondary School. Aside these, she has also taken part in various courses and seminars both national and internationally. Mrs. Benneh rose through the ranks to become the Director of the Human Resource Department and later was appointed an advisor on administration to the governor of the Bank of Ghana. She was once the Principal of the National Banking College on secondment from the Bank of Ghana. She was also the Management Consultant of Ghana International Bank, London, UK – 2001 She also served as a member and leader on various boards both national and international. b.Chairperson, Board of Directors Ghana Railways Company – 2017 to 2020 

c. Chairperson, Board of Directors IFS Financial Services Company – 2007 to 2017 

d. Board Member, Ghana Commercial Bank – 2009 to 2014 

e. Former Board Member, Aburi Girls Senior High School - 2001 

f. Fellow, Ghana Institute of Human Resources Management Practitioners. Her social activities over the years are as follows: 

1. Co-opted Member of the University of Ghana Alumni Association. 

2. Executive Member Volta Hall Alumni Association. 

3. A fellow of Volta Hall, University of Ghana. 

4. First President, Bank of Ghana Ladies Association. 

5.Immediate Past President, Wi renkyi ren Amanf rom Development Association. 

Publications: 

“Human Resources Management - Women in the Financial Sector in Ghana” - Published in an edited book “Experiences in Capacity Building of Ghanaian Women”, Asempa Publisher, Christian Council of Ghana – 2001 Human Resources Management and Development in Ghana (World Bank Publications, 1998) Mrs. Benneh is the Nkosuohene of Wirenkyiren Amanfrom Akyem Abuakwa District in the Eastern Region bearing the stool name “Nana Adwoa Asiaa Beyeeman I”, she is also the Akyem Abuakwa Dwantua Hemaa, bearing the stool name “Nana Adwoa Asiaa Benneh Beyeeman I”. Aside her social activities, she is also an active member of the Christ the King Catholic Church, where she was awarded the “Mother of the Year” in 2018-2019, she was also a former member of the pastoral council of the same church. She is also the Immediate Past President of the church lectors (Lay Leaders) and President of the Patron Council of the church's Choir. Her hobbies are walking, reading and listening to music.
